Working closely with The Wilberforce Trust, one of York’s oldest charities which provides support for people with a visual impairment, sensory impairments and other disabilities, O’Neill Associates secured planning permission in April 2018 for the erection of a three-storey building comprising 30no. specialist care apartments, a community hub and offices for the Trust.
O’Neill Associates carried out public consultation on behalf of the Trust, led negotiations with the Council, and presented to the Planning Committee. The proposal overcame a number of planning difficulties including demonstrating very special circumstances to develop within the green belt, access issues, archaeological interest due to surviving pattern
