Redevelopment of listed hotel for residential use

Planning permission and listed building consent have been obtained for conversion of a former hotel and its outbuildings, and construction of a new house, to form 7 new residential units.

The hotel comprised Grade II listed buildings originally constructed as a row of townhouses in a prominent position fronting Mount Vale, together with curtilage listed coach house and outbuildings to the rear of the site, all located within a Conservation Area.

O'Neill Associates successfully negotiated with the Local Planning Authority in relation to sympathetic internal alteration and refurbishment works to bring the townhouses back to their original residential use.

The Practice also secured support from Planning and Conservation Officers for the development of a new townhouse alongside the existing row, addressing issues relating to the setting of the listed buildings and Conservation Area and the amenity needs of neighbouring residences.
